The Field Maple grows to heights of 15 meters and is found abundantly in the Fontainebleau Forest.
Its wood produces only short pieces and therefore its use is limited to farming implements and small luxury objects which utilize its grained wood. It is also used to make stringed instruments and, among others, oboes.
Der Feldahorn wird bis zu 15 m hoch, er kommt im Wald von Fontainebleau sehr häufig vor.
Aufgrund seines niedrigen Wuchses eignet er sich nur für die Herstellung von Bodenbearbeitungsgeräten und kleinen Luxusgegenständen, bei denen man das geflammte Holz schätzt.
Es wird auch zum Bau von Musikinstrumenten, unter anderem für Oboen, verwendet.

La petitesse de son bois fait qu’il n’est bon qu’aux instruments aratoires et aux petits objets de luxe où l’on apprécie son aspect ondé.
Il intervient aussi en lutherie, entre autres, dans les hautbois. |
