It is 8 to 9 mm long and found on Oaks, Chestnut trees and their stumps, where the larvae also live. This beetle is very common and very active in the spring.

Länge 8 bis 9 mm. Man trifft ihn samt seinen Larven auf Eiche und Kastanie sowie den jeweiligen Baumstümpfen an. Im Frühjahr ist er sehr verbreitet.

Long de 8 à 9 mm, on le trouve sur les Chênes, les Châtaigniers et leurs souches où vivent également ses larves. Très commun, on le voit au printemps.
